Record high price of R38 000 for a single semen straw

A semen straw from bull C 13-565 of the Considerata Stud was bought on 13 April for a South African record price of R38 000.

The Louma farm from Thabazimbi was willing to dig deep into its pockets for this specific breeding material. 

Moreover, Soetvelde Droughtmasters from Potchefstroom paid the brilliant top price of R850 000 for the pregnant cow CSA 17-96 with the bull calf C 22-289 at the Considerata auction in Parys.

The Droughtmaster cow CSA 17-96 was sold for the top price of R850 000.

Cows (3-in-1) are sold for an average price of R180 345, bulls for an average price of R175 000, semen straws for an average price of R8 872, and embryos for an average price of R6 500.

CSA 20-48, the most expensive bull, was sold for R250 000 to Martin Wipplinger from Brandfort.

The entire supply was sold.
